Head of Engineering and Project Management

Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for a Project Manager I (PM) who will work alongside lead engineers and account managers supporting substation engineering projects for various electric utility clients throughout the Northern United States. PDS provides consulting services to public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities for comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission, substation, and distribution projects nationwide.

Independently lead project teams to complete engineering designs of various sized electric infrastructure projects for electric utilities

Accept responsibility for overall project performance and reporting

Manage project costs, schedule and scope within approved limits, including the development of recovery plans when needed

Ensure contract compliance

Ensure and document adherence to the quality control process

Interface directly with the client and internal management to solve issues and report progress, costs, schedule adherence and risks across a program of projects

Communicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel

Prepare bid documents; Complete monthly invoices, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed time frames

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a closely related discipline is required

A minimum of three (3) + years of relevant Project Management experience

Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, P6)

Demonstrated experience managing and reporting project financial performance, budgets, proposals, scopes and schedules

Must have the capability to plan, organize, direct, and track technical efforts on project tasks

Must be able to interact with customer representatives in an effective manner

Experience with MS Office Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Periodic travel (less than 2%); Hybrid office attendance (2-3 days in office, remaining days work from home) in one of the following offices is highly preferred: PMP Certification

Familiarity with electric power infrastructure projects and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services

Demonstrated success with a team approach to the consulting business

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
