Balfour Beatty is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support field operations for our Carolinas Division in Charlotte . This role assists in implementing Balfour Beatty’s Zero Harm® program by providing jobsite-level safety support, documentation, training assistance, and daily collaboration with project teams.
The Safety Coordinator serves as a key liaison between the project site and the Safety leadership team, helping ensure safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and proactive hazard mitigation. This position is ideal for an early-career safety professional who excels in field presence, communication, and accurate documentation.
Support implementation of project safety plans and Zero Harm® initiatives.
Coordinate with project teams to maintain safe work practices and site compliance.
Maintain safety signage, bulletin boards, and first-aid/safety equipment.
Assist with new-hire safety orientation and basic task-specific training.
Maintain toolbox talk logs, meeting minutes, and training attendance.
Assist with first aid response, incident documentation, and basic investigation steps.
Participate in regulatory inspections and help ensure prompt correction of violations.
Maintain organized safety files, inspection reports, and OSHA-related documentation.
Prepare periodic safety summaries for project teams and Safety leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in Safety & Environmental Health, Construction Management, or related field; or equivalent field experience.
2-4 years of construction or industrial safety experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, email, and basic digital reporting tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment and uphold Balfour Beatty safety values.
Experience assisting with incident investigations or regulatory inspections.
Experience providing basic first aid or emergency response.
