Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Cardiac Step-Down (PCU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and active NC or compact RN license for a 13-week night shift contract.
Details
Work in a 15-bed Medical Cardiac Step-Down unit (E3 Heart Tower) within a large, Level II trauma center and Magnet®-designated hospital
Patient population includes post-EP lab and post-cath lab cases
RN-to-patient ratio of 3-4:1
Specialized equipment includes sheaths, telemetry monitoring, and IV drips (gtts)
EMR: Cerner
Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Requires 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Floating required to all Med-Surg and step-down units
Requirements
Active NC or compact RN license required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for PCU RNs
Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac step-down or PCU nursing experience required
US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
Charge nurse experience is preferred
A calm, flexible personality is the ideal fit for this unit
Night shift staffing includes a free charge nurse, 4 RNs, and 1 PCT
Navy blue scrubs required
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
