Head of Engineering and Project Management

BESS Project Manager is an onsite position located in Juno Beach, FL. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W-2). You will join the Engineering & Construction (E&C) Department and be responsible for daily project coordination across Development, Engineering, Estimating, Supply Chain, Scheduling, and Construction. This includes projects from pre-construction through construction, focusing on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

The project manager coordinates matrixed project development teams to ensure resources focus on the right activities to meet the schedule.

Coordinates environmental, regulatory, cultural, land acquisition, and interconnection to incorporate all project variables.

Develops the project's technical scope and improves project variables for technical and financial feasibility.

Supports origination and development teams with PPA and GIA negotiations, and with jurisdictional needs.

Coordinates engineering, estimating and procurement requirements.

Supports the E&C engineering team with technical attributes to develop designs.

Supports the E&C cost estimating team in developing financial models and manages them through executive budget approvals.

Seeks and uses market data to keep the financial model healthy.

Competitively sources, negotiates and implements commercial contracts for critical services including geotechnical, survey, engineering, and EPC/PC construction services.

Upholds and represents E&C's interests on assigned projects.

Contributes to multiple software applications to manage data, deliverables and report on key indicators.

Supports process improvements and efficiency projects to increase growth.

Communicates with Executive Leadership, Suppliers, Regulatory Agencies, Local Communities and team members.

Presents project progress and risk mitigation in meetings with various levels of management.

Ensures the Construction Project Manager can take over projects moving to the Construction stage with an inclusive and executable construction plan.

Manages multiple projects at varying stages, spanning the United States and Canada.

Occasional travel to project locations and local public hearings.

Who You Are

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Excellent project management skills.

Preferably holds a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Finance/Accounting with experience in renewable energy projects.

Prefer experience with electricity markets, renewables, or battery projects.

Prefer PMP Certification and advanced Excel skills.

Base salary range: $71.00/hr to $76.00/hr, depending on experience, qualifications and skills.
