Job Description FindTalent is partnering with a reputable utility contractor specializing in power delivery and infrastructure solutions to identify an experienced Substation Estimator . This role plays a critical part in supporting the planning and successful execution of substation construction and upgrade projects. The Substation Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to help secure and deliver projects that power communities.
Review bid documents, specifications, and drawings to develop accurate substation project cost proposals.
Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitiveness and timely submissions.
Partner with project management and operations teams to align estimates with project goals and execution strategies.
Document estimate assumptions, methodologies, and cost structures in detail.
Identify potential project risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Continuously refine estimating practices, tools, and databases to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Stay current with industry trends, construction methods, and pricing data relevant to substation projects.
Provide mentorship and support to junior estimators when applicable.
Proven experience estimating substation projects within the utility or construction sectors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with estimating software tools is preferred.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in estimating substation or related utility projects.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, per company policy.
