Oncology Outpatient Clinic Nurse - Hematology Oncology

Provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of, and as directed by, the physicians. Assists the physician in the treatment of patients and completes related clinical paperwork. Bring your nursing skills to a specialty setting where you can build meaningful relationships with patients and make a difference throughout their care journey. As a Registered Nurse with Medical Oncology & Hematology at the David M. Sindelar Cancer Center, you’ll work alongside physicians and a collaborative care team to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting. You’ll support patients through assessments, treatments, education, follow-up, and care coordination while developing your skills within a specialized area of nursing. As an Outpatient Specialty RN, you will:
Room patients, review medical histories, obtain vital signs, and assess patient conditions
Assist physicians with patient care and specialty procedures
Provide patient education and help patients understand their plan of care
Respond to patient questions, phone calls, test results, and follow-up needs
Coordinate care and collaborate with physicians and other members of the care team
Assist with laboratory, imaging, and referral needs
Accurately document patient care in the electronic health record
Support infection prevention and maintain clean, well-stocked exam rooms
Respond calmly and effectively to urgent situations within the clinic
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Current, valid RN license
