JOB TITLE : Painter

Assist in surface preparation, mixing of paint, application of coating, striping, and clean up. Position requires willingness to learn, and the ability to follow directions concerning painting in the marine industry. Make certain surfaces are prepared for coating according to paint manufacturers' specifications; must comply with company, federal, state, and local safety and environmental rules and regulations; accurately operate, clean, and maintain all assigned equipment; properly store equipment; knowledgeable in checking wet film mil (WFT) thickness being applied; Required Experience : Formal or informal on the job training and two years of experience in the application of coatings in the marine industry.

Must be able to follow clean shaven policy.

Regularly exposed to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, confined spaces, precarious places, close proximity to other employees.

To avoid injury, personal protective equipment (PPE) required such as safety clothing, safety devices to protect personnel from bodily harm. Overtime or shift work involved most of the time. Travel often required.
