Senior Automation Engineer

Location: York, PA Pay Rate: $100,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year Safe Facility. Are you a skilled Senior Automation Engineer with experience bringing custom automated machinery to life? We're seeking a hands-on automation professional to support system startup, troubleshooting, robotics programming, controls integration, and customer-site commissioning. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges in industrial automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing environments.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field required

5+ years of experience in industrial automation, robotics, automated machinery startup, maintenance, service, or related technical work

• Strong PLC and HMI experience required
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
• Knowledge of robotics, motion systems, conveyors, tooling, and vision systems
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• SolidWorks or CAD design experience preferred
• Working knowledge of pneumatics and industrial components
• Experience with structured text or similar industrial programming languages preferred
• Strong customer communication and independent problem-solving skills

Bring custom automated machinery into full operation after power-up

Configure equipment, update control programs, and troubleshoot system performance

Prepare and validate systems for factory acceptance testing

Lead commissioning on smaller projects and support larger automation systems

Program and tune robots, motion systems, and supporting equipment

Assist with installation, startup, and site acceptance testing at customer locations

Work with engineering, service, mechanical, electrical, and controls teams to resolve issues

Ensure equipment meets performance, reliability, and timeline expectations

Ability to work in industrial and manufacturing environments

Ability to perform physical tasks as needed during startup, testing, and commissioning

Willingness to travel approximately 25%

Frequent computer-based diagnostics, troubleshooting, and equipment interaction
