Overview UCF’s Facilities and Business Operations supports faculty, staff, students, and the broader community by delivering high‑quality services and maintaining a welcoming campus environment.

The Opportunity UCT IT is hiring a Systems Engineer II to research, implement, operate, and secure systems that support enterprise infrastructure and information security.

Responsibilities System Architecture Designs and architects systems and applications that support enterprise infrastructure and information security.

Performs architecture and design of new systems and applications.

Gathers business requirements and plans the implementation of institution's applications and infrastructure.

Supports product evaluation and qualification of new technology and methodology to make recommendations.

System Engineering Builds and maintains the department's applications and infrastructure to meet business requirements and secure standard operating system software.

Monitors systems and applications for performance and uptime and makes configuration changes to achieve service level targets.

Supports secure configurations as appropriate for systems and applications, including file transfer processes (SFTP, SSL) and web server configuration and operations.

Maintains day‑to‑day operations and security updates of systems and applications.

Administrative Supports unit governance and documentation.

Provides input on new policies and standards within operating units.

Creates and maintains up‑to‑date documentation on system configuration.

Quality Assurance Oversees quality assurance review for all server‑related deployments and documentation of team procedures.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure, systems, and applications.

Knowledge of information security principles, secure system configuration standards, and vulnerability remediation practices.

Additional Requirements Valid Class E driver’s license; the position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus.

Compensation The anticipated salary range for this position is $64,518 to $80,648. Final salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
