About the Position:
Position/Specialty: MedSurg RN
Shift: 4x12s, Nights 19:00 - 07:30
Ratios: Standard ratios of 1:6, with the possibility of flexing to 1:7 in the case of unplanned absences.
Weekend Requirement: Yes, every other weekend.
On-call Requirement: Yes, as needed for low census.
Floating Requirements: Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs and between like units.
First-time travelers accepted.
Special Requirements:
Skillset includes Med/Surg, MS/Tele, telemetry monitoring, insulin management, and rapid response.
Patient care experience should cover a range of typical adult medical-surgical diagnoses.
Experience with telemetry monitoring and rapid response teams is expected.
Ability to manage patient care involving various medical devices and procedures is necessary.
Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, and social services.
This is a general medical surgical unit with a staffing plan that supports normal ratios.
Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics.
The unit cares for patients with standard adult medical-surgical diagnoses.
All patients are eligible for telemetry monitoring.
Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, they may be assigned to emergency response teams.
This should be considered when confirming assignments during hurricane season.
Hurricane season runs from June through November, with peak activity typically occurring in August and September.
