Job Description The Engineer II, Mechanical Design is an experienced designer responsible for delivering accurate and complete design documentation to support successful project outcomes. The position also demonstrates a strong understanding of mechanical systems, CAD tools, and design standards, along with foundational knowledge of Operator Interface Systems and Instrumentation. Working closely with engineers and project teams, this position also supports project execution, promotes design quality, and contributes to mentoring junior designers.

Create and revise machine layout drawings and detailed mechanical designs
Apply advanced understanding of component integration, fit, tolerancing and mechanical systems including pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams
Perform engineering calculations related to loads, forces, and areas to support design decisions
Ensure all design documentation meets internal quality standards and customer standards
Project Execution & Coordination:
Manage assigned design work to meet project deadlines and budgets, while anticipating potential risks or issues
Lead small design portions of projects, contributing to reviews, construction support, and field verification as needed
Demonstrate a track record of successful project contributions that generate repeat business and client satisfaction
Serve as a key contact for design-related questions and clarifications within the team or with clients
Support team planning and coordination by helping align design scope with project objectives
Expand knowledge of new technologies and design practices to improve personal and team capabilities
Take initiative to lead process improvements or contribute to design standards
Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed.
Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.
High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
Higher education AND/OR related experience and training
CAD Certificate is a plus (but not required)
Positive safety attitude and personal integrity -- both are non-negotiable
Ability to read and interpret related documents and manuals
Office environment, requiring sitting and standing and extended amounts of time using a computer/keyboard at a single workstation.
