Design Architect (Commercial Office)

Fogarty Finger (FF) is an interdisciplinary design studio of over 145 architects and designers dedicated to placemaking within the urban built environment. Founded in 2003, FF is responsible for many prominent residential and commercial projects throughout the United States with offices in New York, Atlanta, and Boston.

Our projects are equally evocative and pragmatic - designed to be enjoyed by everyone. FF is seeking a talented Intermediate Designer to join our Commercial Interiors studios in New York. You will work closely with senior staffs to take part in design development, consultant coordination and project management across all phases - from schematic design through construction administration. This is a role with real responsibilities and a clear path toward greater project ownership over time.

Participate in design reviews across all project phases, contributing to the development and advancement of design intent

Support the selection of materials and finishes, ensuring alignment with design intent

Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, ADA requirements, and other regulatory standards throughout all documentation phases

Prepare drawing sets and 3D models in Revit in accordance with FF’s documentation and BIM standards

Provide CA responsibilities, including field coordination with trades and consultants, site surveys, shop drawings and submittal review, RFIs, and construction sketches

Manage multiple tasks and schedules across concurrent projects with competing deadlines

Proactively identify potential issues, document concerns clearly, elevate to senior team members, and propose resolutions

Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited institution

3-7 years of relevant professional experience at a similar architecture or interior design firm

Solid understanding of building systems, materials, construction methods, and interior detailing

Working knowledge of NYC building codes, Landmarks requirements, ADA requirements, and other applicable standards

Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to present confidently in both internal and client‑facing settings

Proficiency in Revit required; working knowledge of AutoCAD

Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering programs (Rhino, SketchUp, Enscape, or V‑Ray)

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

Experience across a range of project types, including high‑end commercial, amenity/hospitality, and workplace interiors

Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with consultants, clients, and contractors

Experience running a project from initial concept through CA
