SEN Teacher

Position: Special Education -Resource Room; Michigan Teacher Certificate

Direct Supervisor: Director of Student Services/Building Principal

Eligible for health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance upon hire.

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education;

Must possess a valid Michigan Teacher Certification with Special Education endorsement;

Must possess knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of performance assessments;

Must possess a willingness and ability to work cooperatively on a teaching team;

Must possess experience with administering individualized instruction to students in special education and general education as a push-in and pull-out instructor;

Must possess a demonstrated knowledge of disabilities and their educational implications;

Must possess an understanding and knowledge of learning theories and child development appropriate for various disabilities;

Must possess knowledge of Special Education laws and regulations;

Must be flexible and able to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs;

Must possess a strong commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current in the field of special education.
