Head of Project Management

Project ManagerA growing mechanical contractor is seeking a Project Manager experienced in HVAC, plumbing, and process piping systems to join their team in a leadership role. This position focuses on managing commercial projects ranging from $50K to $25M+, with responsibilities that span client development, project oversight, budgeting, and field coordination. Candidates with a background in process piping are strongly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary point of contact for both internal teams and clients from project award through closeoutLead project execution including estimating, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, and field coordinationPrepare proposals, contracts, change orders, and documentation to ensure legal compliance and clarityCoordinate project kickoff meetings and ensure alignment across engineering, purchasing, accounting, and field teamsMonitor job costs, billing, and forecasting to ensure profitabilityClient & Team CollaborationDevelop and maintain relationships with general contractors, vendors, consultants, and subcontractorsLead external meetings with clients to finalize sales and project directionSupport internal coordination between all departments to ensure timely execution and scope fulfillmentMentor junior project staff and participate in recruiting, coaching, and onboarding effortsOperational ExecutionUse internal software and project management tools to track RFIs, job schedules, and material deliveriesEnsure compliance with jobsite safety standards and participate in regular construction meetingsEvaluate risk, troubleshoot issues, and maintain a proactive approach to cost and time managementQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferredMinimum 5+ years of experience estimating, designing, or managing HVAC and plumbing projectsExperience with process piping strongly preferredSkills:Strong communication and leadership skillsProficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)Familiarity with construction software such as BidTracer, Bluebeam, IFS, Smartsheet, or similar systemsAbility to operate independently while coordinating multiple departments and project demandsCompensation & BenefitsESOP programHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with employer matchPaid time off and holidaysCell phone and vehicle allowanceMileage and travel reimbursementCareer development and internal growth opportunities
