Food Service Cook

You're organized, dependable, and take pride in preparing quality food in a clean and safe environment. Whether you're prepping ingredients, cooking for a large group, or keeping the kitchen running smoothly, you know that a great meal can make a meaningful difference in someone's day.

At First Step House, our Food Services team plays an important role in supporting individuals on their recovery journey by providing nutritious, high-quality meals in a welcoming environment.

Starting Pay: $20.81 per hour

$500 sign-on bonus

No late-night shifts

As a Food Services Cook, you'll help prepare and serve nutritious meals for clients across our programs while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.

Completing daily food preparation and kitchen setup

Cooking banquet- or family-style meals (no individual restaurant orders)

Following proper food handling, sanitation, and Health Department guidelines

Opening and closing the kitchen each day

Receiving, organizing, and storing food deliveries

Transporting food to nearby First Step House locations as needed

Assisting with inventory and maintaining an organized kitchen

Enjoy cooking for groups and serving others

Take pride in preparing quality meals safely and efficiently

Can adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced kitchen

Current Food Handler Permit (or ability to obtain upon hire) (Required)

One year of cooking or food service experience (Preferred)
