Position Summary
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing exceptional patient care and specimen collection services. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring compliance with established procedures and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong phlebotomy skills, maintain patient confidentiality, and create a positive patient experience by fostering trust and confidence throughout the specimen collection process.
Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures accurately and efficiently.
Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following established protocols.
Verify patient information and maintain accurate records and documentation.
Ensure all specimen collection and processing activities comply with quality and safety standards.
Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
Provide excellent customer service while interacting with patients, clients, and healthcare professionals.
Explain collection procedures and address patient concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.
Demonstrate organizational commitment and maintain a positive company image.
Complete daily assignments accurately and within established timelines.
Adhere to all confidentiality and compliance requirements regarding patient information.
Required Qualifications
Education

High School Diploma or GED required.
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

Certification is required for candidates working in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Experience

Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
Experience with pediatric and geriatric blood draws preferred.
Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred.
Keyboard and data entry experience required.
