Healthcare Dispatcher

Job Description

Receive and dispatch emergency and non-emergency requests for ground and air ambulance responses. Direct inbound and outbound telephone calls to appropriate departments, internal and external.

• n DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position.
• n \n

• Assists ground and/or air resources for emergency and non-emergency responses. \n
• Coordinates first responder notification of fire departments and other agencies as requried. \n
• Receives and keypunches requests for ground and air response. \n
• Documents daily activity. \n
• Provides pre-arrival instructions using EMD. \n
• Trains new Communication Center employees as requested. \n

\n QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED. \n
• National and/or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (preferred); as determined by appropriate state requirements; but not always necessary depending on experience, etc. \n
