Manufacturing Engineering

A Manufacturing Engineer at Neogen Corporation leads initiatives for the daily support of products, processes, and equipment and may be responsible for leading the integration of new products within production, meeting new product integration timelines and production goals (i.e., safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity). This individual will be required to routinely partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate, troubleshoot and implement manufacturing processes within the business unit. Works cooperatively with R&D, Process Development, Quality, Production, Regulatory, Equipment Engineering, Supply Chain, and Marketing to ensure project successSuccessfully contributes to both new product development teams and product support, including the following activities: process capability studies, process development, Six Sigma and Value Improvement projects, report preparation and process/test documentationDesigns and coordinates standard engineering tests and experimentsDesigns, procures, and fabricates equipment tooling and fixturesCharacterizes the physical and material properties of the components, and optimizes these properties against device performance requirementsPerforms troubleshooting on new and existing products/process problems as related to design, material, or processesSummarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test resultsCompletes and manages Capital Equipment Request AuthorizationsPrepares standard reports/documents to communicate results to the technical communityMay lead cross-functional project teamsIdentifies, implements, and manages equipment requirements to support production goalsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Biochemical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering)4+ years of related experienceOR combination of both education and experience2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environmentUnderstanding of/experience with manufacturing problem solving and process interrogation tools such as Six Sigma, and production flow tools such as LEAN manufacturingPreferred Qualifications:1+ year manufacturing / process engineering experience in rotary converting and/or automated assembly1 to 2 years of experience with capital project management and justification1 to 2 years of AutoCAD and Solidworks designSAP experience a plusProficiency using Microsoft OfficeApply now!From inside the farm gate to our dinner plates, Neogen protects the world’s food supply.
