Commercial & Business Litigation Attorney

An established Mid-Atlantic firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3-8+ years of experience in business and commercial litigation to join its team hybrid in Baltimore, NYC, or Richmond, VA. This Attorney will represent clients in complex commercial disputes, manage litigation matters through all phases, and collaborate with sophisticated businesses on high-stakes legal matters. Experience with Labor & Employment and Trusts & Estates matters is valued as a plus, though not required.

Qualifications

3-8+ years of experience in business and commercial litigation. Experience handling commercial disputes, contract matters, shareholder disputes, business torts, or related litigation matters. JD from an accredited law school and active bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction. Experience managing matters through discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation. Ability to draft persuasive pleadings, motions, and other litigation-related documents. Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills. Experience with Labor & Employment or Trusts & Estates matters is preferred but not required. Ability to manage multiple matters while maintaining strong client service standards.

Responsibilities

Handle commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation documents. Conduct legal research and develop case strategies for complex business disputes. Manage discovery, including document review, written discovery, and depositions. Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations. Collaborate with partners and clients to develop practical and effective litigation solutions. Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case status and strategy. Support business development initiatives and contribute to the growth of the litigation practice.
