Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring an OH or compact RN license and current PICU experience.
Details
Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a children's hospital
Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
Required to float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
Epic charting system experience required
Cares for critically ill pediatric patients requiring respiratory, renal, cardiovascular, and neurologic monitoring and interventions
Requirements
- Active OH or Compact RN license in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required (CVPICU-only experience not accepted)
- First-time travelers considered with closer to 3 years of PICU experience and recent Level 1 acuity experience
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skills required include ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, arterial line management, central line care, IV therapy, administration of emergency medications, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- 2 supervisory references required, at least one must be manager or supervisor titled
Additional Information
Provide direct bedside care to critically ill pediatric patients in a Level 1 pediatric intensive care setting
Floating to other units is a strict requirement and a key point of emphasis at this facility
Candidates cannot have worked in a permanent role at this facility within the last 2 years
No local candidates allowed within a 60-mile radius
First-time travelers will be considered if they meet the specified experience requirements
All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration
