We are seeking a Sous Chef to lead daily operations for a scratch, wood-fired kitchen concept . This hands-on role partners with the Executive Chef to drive food quality, team development, and operational excellence in a high-volume, seasonally driven kitchen. Ideal candidates are experienced culinary leaders passionate about bold flavors, craftsmanship, and mentorship .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations , ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation.
• Work hands-on on the line and expo during service , demonstrating leadership by example.
• Train, mentor, and develop line cooks and prep staff .
• Assist with ordering, inventory, and food cost control .
• Maintain sanitation, food safety, and compliance with standards.
• Support menu execution, seasonal updates, and recipe adherence .
• Manage scheduling and labor efficiency within budgeted targets.
• Step into leadership in the Executive Chef’s absence.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years progressive culinary leadership experience.
• Experience in scratch kitchens and high-volume service environments .
• Strong understanding of wood-fired cooking techniques preferred.
• Knowledge of food cost, labor management, and kitchen systems .
• ServSafe certified (or ability to obtain).
• Strong leadership presence with a calm, solutions-oriented approach.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $65,000 – $70,000
