They contribute to the overall patient experience by delivering compassionate care, performing administrative tasks, and assisting with medical procedures.ResponsibilitiesPatient care: Assisting healthcare providers in patient care activities, such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and documenting medical histories.Medical procedures: Assisting with medical procedures, such as administering medications, collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, and performing basic point of care tests.Patient education: Providing patients with information and instructions regarding their medical conditions, medications, and treatment plans.Communication and coordination: Facilitating effective communication between patients, healthcare providers, and other medical staff.Compliance and safety: Adhering to healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and safety protocols to protect patient confidentialityElectronic health records (EHR): Proficiently using electronic health record systems to document patient information, update medical records, and retrieve necessary dataQualifications RequiredHigh School Diploma or EquivalentGraduate of a certified medical assistant programBasic Life Support at the Healthcare provider level trainingExperience in primary care or clinical settingPreferred:Skilled with electronic medical records and email messaging systems.1 year of experience in a primary care or clinical settingBilingual (English/Spanish)Pediatric ExperienceSt Thomas Community Health Center offers a full competitive and comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees.
