Accounting Specialist

About the Role A mission-driven nonprofit in Sacramento is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join its Finance team. This position is responsible for a range of accounting duties, including AP/AR and payroll duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Process AP/AR and payroll related task
• Verify invoice accuracy and approvals
• Manage check runs, deposits and ACH.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies and payment issues.
• Track AP aging and ensure compliance wiht audit requirements.
• Monitor AR aging reports, followup for overdue accounts.
• Reconcile customer accounts, process credit memos and adjustments
• Respond to customer billing inquiries
• Process payroll of 250+ employees.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP Nonprofit experience preferred Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, Word, and Outlook
