Chief Financial Officer

A well-established, growing design-build firm in Syracuse is looking for its next Chief Financial Officer. The organization has been part of the Central New York building landscape for decades, with a strong reputation for architecture, construction, and development work across industrial, commercial, and mixed-use projects. This is a true CFO seat, reporting directly to the CEO. It's a strategic role for someone ready to help guide the company's next chapter of growth. You'll oversee a full accounting team, including a corporate controller who reports to you, and you'll stay close enough to the numbers to catch things others miss. This is a role for someone who wants a seat at the leadership table but still knows their way around a WIP schedule. What we're looking for: Proven CFO or senior finance leadership experience, ideally in construction or a related capital-intensive industry Strong understanding of construction accounting, including WIP schedules, job costing, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition Experience with construction-specific ERP systems like Viewpoint, Procore, or Timberline CPA strongly preferred Someone who can operate strategically while still being comfortable in the details when needed Based in or willing to relocate to the Syracuse area; this is a fully in-office role #J-18808-Ljbffr StraussGroup - Executive Search Consultants
