Registered Nurse - Stepdown Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, including weekend and holiday shifts as scheduled.

Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a 32-bed Stepdown Unit with 22 stepdown beds and 10 floor beds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiology, heart failure, cardiac surgery, and med-surg. This role requires the ability to manage patients with various cardiac diagnoses and to titrate multiple IV drips.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Stepdown Unit, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3.
• Titrate essential intravenous medications, including Heparin, Insulin, Nitro, Cardizem, Nicardipine, Lasix, Amiodarone, and Dobutamine.
• Collaborate with a dedicated charge nurse, house supervisors, and clinical associates to ensure optimal patient care and unit efficiency.
• Monitor patients with telemetry equipment and interpret cardiac strips as needed.
• Participate in self-scheduling and flexible shift planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN licensure.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.
• Previous cardiac experience is preferred.
