Duration: 6 months

Hours / Shift: 5 x 8 hours

Start time / End time: 8-4:30 pm

Responsibilities:

Coordinate patient scheduling and registration activities for Diagnostic Imaging services.

Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, referring providers, and imaging staff.

Ensure accurate scheduling, proper exam preparation, and efficient patient flow throughout the department.

Schedule and coordinate patient appointments for various Imaging modalities such as Ultrasound, X-Ray, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, CT, and Vascular Ultrasound.

Manage high volumes of inbound and outbound telephone calls professionally and courteously.

Obtain and verify patient demographic, insurance, and ordering provider information.

Provide patients with detailed exam preparation instructions.

Verify physician orders and communicate with providers for clarification if needed.

Coordinate appointment scheduling based on protocols, exam urgency, and department availability.

Serve as front desk support as needed, greeting patients and visitors professionally.

Register, check in, and dispatch patients while ensuring patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations.

Coordinate patient flow to maximize efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Communicate scheduling changes, delays, and special instructions to patients and staff.

Respond to patient inquiries and resolve scheduling concerns with professionalism and empathy.

Monitor departmental work queues and address scheduling requests promptly.

Collaborate with technologists, nurses, radiologists, providers, and ancillary departments for smooth operations.

Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) and scheduling systems.

Assist with departmental administrative duties, reports, and special projects as assigned.

Adhere to organizational policies, safety standards, customer service expectations, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

Radiology scheduling experience.

Call center experience.

Minimum 2 years of specialty experience.

High school Diploma/GED.

Preferred Skills:

Front desk experience.

MACS Enterprise scheduling experience.
