Portland Christian Schools is currently seeking the right person to fill our opening for a Preschool Teacher's Assistant. Position: Preschool Teacher's Assistant (Early Childhood Education) Responsibilities Assist the Preschool Lead Teacher in the supervision, teaching, and management of a group of children under the age of six years old. Assist the teacher to plan, implement, and supervise an appropriate program according to the philosophy of Portland Christian for the assigned class and in close working relationship with other staff. Constant and consistent supervision of the children in a positive style of teaching and training. Observe, record, and report on individual and group behaviors and injuries. Assume a share of the housekeeping responsibilities of the staff. Promote parent involvement through parent meetings and communications. Attend all staff meetings and events. Maintain professional conduct, attitude, appearance, and loyalty at all times; treat all people with respect and dignity. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Must be willing to sign the PCS Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement. A background check will be run after a preliminary offer of employment is made. Work Week and Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week (FTE 1.0) Term: Year‑round (12 months) Qualifications High School Diploma or AA Degree. Oregon Registry: Must obtain a step 3 or higher within one year of employment. Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
