Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.What You Will Do:Production machining of routine and custom products using manual mills and lathes.Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals to perform set ups and production processes.Calibrate machines to perform operations within its capability by positioning, aligning, securing work, utilizing and adapting appropriate tools.Use analytical skills to formulate machine adjustments and perform the machining process.Collaborating with engineering teams to optimize production processes and resolve and develop unique solutions.Utilize of inspection equipment including indicators, micrometers, calipers, and surface plates.Inspect and certify your work product.Work independently using all resources available to troubleshoot and resolve problems.Perform daily, quarterly, annual Preventative Maintenance on equipment.Effectively work in an environment requiring both repetitive and unique products.Maintain focus on safety and quality.Build manufacturing fixtures.Overtime available on a business need basis.Qualifications You Must Have:Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.2+ years of manual Mill/Lathe experience.The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Qualifications We Prefer:Two-year machinist/tooling degree.Harding Lathe experience.Bridgeport Mill with Acurite control experience.Production manufacturing experience.Tool making experience.Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks.Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprint and technical documentation.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.Collins Enterprise Values including Safety | Trust | Accountability | Respect | Collaboration | Innovation.What We Offer :2nd Shift Schedule; Monday - Thursday; 3:00pm - 1:30amMedical, dental, and vision insuranceThree weeks of vacation for newly hired employeesGenerous 401(k) plan that includes employer matching funds and separate employer retirement contribution, including a Lifetime Income Strategy optionTuition reimbursement programStudent Loan Repayment ProgramLife insurance and disability coverageOptional coverages you can buy pet insurance, home and auto insurance, additional life and accident insurance, critical illness insurance, group legal, ID theft protectionBirth, adoption, parental leave benefitsCarrot Health, fertility, and family planningAdoption AssistanceAutism BenefitEmployee Assistance Plan, including up to 10 free counseling sessionsHealthy You Incentives, wellness rewards programDoctor on Demand, virtual doctor visitsBright Horizons, child and elder care servicesTeladoc Medical Experts, second opinion programAnd more!
