As an Armed Screener supporting a government location, you will help maintain a secure environment by screening individuals and belongings, monitoring access points, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while helping to deter incidents. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $22.85 / Hour Job Schedule: Sat 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM Sun 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific screening procedures and security-related policies at a government location. Screen individuals and their belongings using screening equipment and established procedures, identifying prohibited or unauthorized items and reporting concerns to appropriate personnel. Verify access credentials, direct visitors to appropriate areas, and maintain orderly entry points in accordance with site requirements. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response procedures and communicating observations promptly. Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entry areas, surrounding grounds, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns. Minimum Requirements: Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree in criminal justice. Possess an armed guard card or license. Preferred: Ability to lift more than 20 pounds. Preferred: Customer service experience. Preferred: Possess a state, county, or city-issued security-related license. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry-specific security training programs. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
