Job Roles and Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management

• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, crew leaders, technicians, and support staff.

• Build a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, teamwork, and customer service.

• Recruit, interview, hire, train, and retain employees.

• Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching.

• Establish performance expectations and hold employees accountable.

• Address employee concerns, conflicts, and disciplinary matters.

Operations Management

• Oversee daily residential landscape maintenance operations.

• Manage scheduling, manpower allocation, equipment utilization, and route efficiency.

• Ensure work meets company quality standards, contract specifications, and customer expectations.

• Conduct property inspections and quality control audits.

• Improve productivity, efficiency, and service quality.

• Coordinate with irrigation, enhancement, installation, and support teams.

Customer Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong residential customer relationships.

• Serve as the escalation point for customer concerns and service issues.

• Conduct property visits and customer meetings.

• Resolve customer requests, concerns, and warranty issues.

• Develop strategies to improve customer retention and satisfaction.

Financial Management

• Manage division budgets, revenue goals, profitability, and operating expenses.

• Monitor labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs.

• Review financial reports and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Participate in budgeting and forecasting.

• Ensure accurate timekeeping, job costing, billing, and invoice approval.

Business Development and Growth

• Identify opportunities to expand services within existing accounts.

• Support sales and business development initiatives.

• Increase customer retention and recurring revenue.

• Assist with proposals for maintenance renewals, enhancements, and additional services.

• Monitor market trends and recommend services that support growth.

Quality Assurance and Safety

• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable requirements.

• Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and training.

• Maintain maintenance quality standards.

• Oversee vehicle, equipment, and property care.

• Investigate accidents, incidents, and property damage claims and implement corrective actions.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Prepare operational reports, performance metrics, and division KPIs.

• Track customer retention, labor utilization, productivity, revenue, profitability, and quality.

• Manage inventory, equipment replacement planning, and resource allocation.

• Maintain accurate customer and operational documentation.

• Participate in leadership meetings and strategic planning.

Qualifications and Certifications

Required

• Minimum 5 years of landscape maintenance management experience, preferably in residential services.

• Proven experience managing multiple crews, supervisors, and operational teams.

• Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices, irrigation systems, horticulture, and enhancement services.

• Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, and operational performance metrics.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and customer relationship skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant CRM or landscape management software.

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

• Ability to analyze data, financial information, procedures, regulations, and operational reports.

• Ability to make independent decisions and resolve operational issues.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Horticulture, Landscape Management, or related field.

• Spanish language skills.

• Certified Landscape Technician certification.

• Pesticide License.

• Certified Irrigation Technician certification.

• Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute certification or related credential.

Computer Skills

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
