Description
- Assess and evaluate patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatrics utilizing both standardized assessments and observational strategies.
- Create tailored treatment plans that cater to immediate goals as well as ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing necessities.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on enhancing communication, language proficiency, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing abilities.
- Work collaboratively with a multidimensional care team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to formulate cohesive treatment approaches.
- Provide educational resources to patients and their families to aid progress and skill development beyond clinical sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and treatments, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity throughout patient care.
- Document all treatments accurately and promptly in accordance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
- A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized academic institution.
- Fulfillment of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still in process.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Competency in evidence-based practices for patients of all ages, possessing a solid grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing concerns.
- Strong communication skills that foster positive relationships with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary treatment teams.
- Capacity to tailor therapeutic techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Robust clinical judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record management and compliance with documentation standards.
