Motor Vehicle Operator - Intermittent

Job Title

Major duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Operating a variety of gasoline- and diesel-powered motor vehicles, including pickup trucks, cargo vans, buses, and commercial trucks with gross vehicle weights up to 32,000 pounds
• Transporting patients, family members, supplies, materials, equipment, and cargo throughout medical center facilities and surrounding geographic service areas
• Navigating diverse road conditions and operational environments, including restricted-access areas, weight-limited routes, rough terrain, and remote locations
• Ensuring safe vehicle operation by verifying proper load distribution, preventing overloading, and complying with traffic and safety regulations
• Performing operator-level preventive maintenance, inspections, and servicing to maintain vehicle readiness and safe operating conditions
• Maintaining accurate vehicle service records, trip logs, delivery documentation, and accident reporting records
• Loading, unloading, and transporting crated and uncrated materials, equipment, supplies, and parts using proper handling procedures
• Assisting with manual material handling activities, including moving, sorting, counting, palletizing, stocking, and storing materials in warehouse and storage areas
• Operating forklift equipment with capacities of 10,000 pounds or more to load, unload, transport, and store materials on loading docks, warehouses, and outdoor storage sites
• Handling a wide variety of materials, including automotive parts, machinery, electronic equipment, hospital supplies, office furniture, steel products, cylinders, drums, and specialized test equipment
• Performing operator maintenance and safety inspections on forklifts and material-handling equipment to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards

Work Schedule: The days will be varied; however, the hours will be Montrose, NY (09:00 a.m. to 05:30 p.m.) and Castle Point, NY (08:00 a.m. to 04:30 p.m.)
