Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry/Progressive Care – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Evening/Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM. Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. 3:1 patient ratio.

Highlights:

• Work in both IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care and IMC Thoracic units caring for cardiac surgery stepdown, thoracic surgery, and hospitalist patients
• Care for complex patient populations including post-surgical thoracic patients: esophagectomies, lobectomies, lung volume reduction surgery, and wedge resections
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Magnet-designated facility ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital and recognized as a leading teaching and referral center nationally
• Opportunity to develop advanced critical care skills in cardiac and pulmonary specialties with evidence-based practice integration
• Access to procedure room within unit for chest tube insertions and other bedside procedures

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings
• Ventilator and transplant experience required
• ICU or IMC and surgical post-op experience required
• Proficiency in Epic charting system
• Must pass telemetry competency examination prior to start (strict passing criteria applies)
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Core competencies required: cardiac telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management, vasoactive drip titration, arterial line management, central line and PICC care, chest tube management, ventilator management (BiPAP/CPAP), and high flow nasal cannula
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Candidates must reside 50+ miles from facility
