Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Intermediate Medical Care / Progressive Care – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, evening/night rotation (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. 4x12 schedules available. Holiday coverage required for December 24th and 25th. Limited time-off availability between December 22nd and January 5th.

Highlights

• Work in both IMC Acute Medical/Progressive Care and IMC Thoracic units within a 29-bed step-down facility
• Care for acutely ill adult patients with multiple comorbidities, including specialty populations such as Cystic Fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post-lung transplant patients
• Patient ratios: 1:3 for general IMC care; 1:2 for higher-acuity IMC patients; 1:4 for general care
• Epic charting system with full interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Academic Level I Trauma Center environment with comprehensive orientation (36 hours)
• Magnet-designated facility recognized as a leading teaching institution and referral center

Requirements

• Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience within the last 3 years in specialty area
• Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Ventilator and transplant experience required – strong proficiency mandatory
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Level I or II Trauma Center experience required
• Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (strict passing criteria: 100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% overall passing score)
• Willingness to float as needed between units
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
