Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry Oncology & PCU/IMC – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00am-7:30pm), Day/Evening, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required. Holiday coverage includes December 24th and 25th. Four 12-hour shifts with block weekend scheduling (Friday-Sunday) may be considered. Patient ratio 1:3 for general care; 1:2 for IMC level patients.

Highlights:

• Work in a 29-bed progressive care unit at a Magnet-designated academic medical center and Level I Trauma facility
• Provide specialized care to acutely ill patients including post lung transplant, pulmonary hypertension, and Cystic Fibrosis populations
• Care for both general care and IMC level patients requiring ventilator and transplant management
• Utilize Epic EMR in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment with strong nursing advocacy
• Support telemetry oncology, cardiac, thoracic surgery, and progressive care patients with complex comorbidities
• 36 hours of orientation provided with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
• Required experience with ventilated patients and post-transplant care
• Academic Level I or II Trauma Center experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency in Epic charting system
• Must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start (80% passing score required; 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms and 3rd degree heart blocks)
• Skills required include: cardiac telemetry, chest tube management, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP, titration of cardiac and insulin drips, blood product administration, central line care, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs, PCA, wound vac, and tracheostomy care
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Floating to other units as needed required
