Locum to Perm Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant

Our client, a nationally recognized hospital system a couple hours from Atlanta, GA is seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgery PA-C to join their Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery team, first assisting in the OR and managing perioperative care for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients. 90% Operating Room and 10% ICU!

Locum to perm and Locum/Perm Candidates welcome to apply! Would consider either. This is a full continuum of care position with a heavy emphasis on OR first assisting duties!

Responsibilities

• First assist in the OR for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures
• Pre-op evaluations, H&Ps, and care plan development with supervising physicians
• Postoperative management across ICU, step-down, and inpatient units
• Evaluate consults and respond to urgent clinical changes
• Perform procedures within scope (chest tubes, central lines, pacing wires, wound care, etc.)
• Support discharge planning, patient education, and documentation
• Participate in call coverage and weekend rounds

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA program; NCCPA certified
• Current or eligible GA PA license
• BLS and ACLS certified
• 3+ years of cardiothoracic/cardiovascular surgery experience required
