Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description

This role focuses on producing high-quality plastic molded parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will monitor materials, operate production equipment, perform detailed inspections, and ensure all finished parts meet strict quality standards. The position also supports packaging, labeling, and basic training of new team members while working 12-hour shifts on a structured schedule.

• Take ownership of the quality of parts produced with a strong focus on achieving zero defects.
• Monitor material levels in the work cell throughout the shift and request replenishment when needed to maintain continuous production.
• Assist the Production Quality Lead in training new team members on processes, quality standards, and work instructions.
• Inspect finished parts according to operator instructions, control plans, and required quality checks.
• Perform ongoing visual inspections for defects such as short shots, contamination, burns, and splay throughout the shift.
• Trim gates, runners, and flash from molded parts as required to meet quality and appearance standards.
• Pack parts following operator instruction sheets and control plans to ensure correct quantities and packaging methods.
• Attach the correct bar-coded shipping labels to containers, including date, shift, and name, ensuring the label matches the part being run.
• Assemble returnable packaging as needed for finished parts to support efficient shipping and handling.
• Operate plastic injection molding and related manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working around loud machinery.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient and safe production operations.

• At least 1 year of recent manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrated good tenure in previous roles, showing reliability and consistency.
• Comfortable standing on feet for 12-hour shifts.
• Experience working as an operator in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Familiarity with plastic injection molding processes.
• Ability to perform detailed visual inspections and identify defects such as short shots, contamination, burns, and splay.
• Capability to follow written operator instructions, control plans, and quality requirements accurately.
• Basic machine operating skills in a general production or general labor environment.
• Strong attention to detail when labeling, packing, and handling finished parts.
• Commitment to working safely around loud machinery while using required protective equipment.

• Experience with mold and plastic injection molding process development.
• Background in plastics manufacturing or related industrial environments.
• Ability to assist with training new team members on production and quality processes.
• Comfort working in a structured shift schedule, including 12-hour shifts.
• Willingness to adapt to schedule changes, including a 3-2-2 schedule transition.
• Strong work ethic and reliability in attendance and performance.

The role is based in a manufacturing facility with loud machinery and a well-lit production floor. Team members must wear steel-toe footwear and safety glasses as part of the required dress code and personal protective equipment. The facility includes both newer and older machinery, with plans to upgrade equipment in certain areas based on new business opportunities. The position follows a structured shift schedule: 1st shift runs from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and 2nd shift runs from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday, with a Thursday schedule of 6:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The schedule is planned to transition to a 3-2-2 pattern, and the role requires comfort standing and working on your feet for 12-hour shifts in a busy production environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fraser, MI.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
