Business Manager St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School

Primary Purpose Mission: To lead each student in the formation of a strong Catholic faith through the balanced pursuit of knowledge, prayer, responsibility, and service. St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School (STA) serves students in PreK through 8th grade. STA is located in the Catholic Diocese of Dallas, Texas. The school mission permeates the campus, as faculty, students, and families build on a tradition of academic excellence and the formation of the whole student. The focus of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and social‑emotional well‑being is based on meeting the needs of each individual student. STA has a longstanding commitment to the Dallas community, which is evidenced by its longevity. STA was founded in 1947 and continues to promote community service, stewardship, and kinship within the Dallas community, nationally, and internationally. Major Responsibilities and Duties Work with the President regarding contracted salary amounts, based on approved budget forms. Communicate annual diocesan benefit information to employees, and assist school employees with Human Resource needs. Be responsible for on‑boarding and off‑boarding employees. Be responsible for submitting payroll to vendor. Be responsible to have all reports done on their due dates. Work with the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School Parent Association, Committees, and other organizations associated with the school. Prepare an annual budget for the school after receiving input from the President and School Advisory Council. Maintain income and expense records for all school departments including budgeted categories, as well as additional income sources. Maintain income and expense records for all fundraising functions. Be responsible for the preparation of the monthly budget reports for the Parish Finance Council, President, and School Advisory Council. Respond promptly to payment requests from outside vendors for services rendered or products purchased. Monitor the accuracy of accounts payable requests for the school. Respond to other requests by the President regarding financial matters and/or personnel plans. Work with school personnel to evaluate proposed lease options for equipment purchases. Set up family tuition agreements in FACTS and maintain responsibility for incidental billing and collection of delinquent accounts. Prepare diocesan reports and other financial reports requested, as well as outside credit applications/forms. Check all bank statements and bring any irregularities to the attention of the President. Prepare for annual financial review/audit. Participate in the Diocese of Dallas Association of Parish & School Business Managers and other relevant financial organizations to keep informed of pertinent financial plans, policies, and legal issues. Demonstrate professionalism, good decision making skills, and efficient work practices. Demonstrate enthusiasm for acquiring and sharing new skills, strategies, and resources to improve overall community effectiveness. Follow guidelines set forth in the Diocese of Dallas Accounting and Finance Policies and Procedures Handbook. Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred. Quickbooks and Bill.com experience preferred. At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. Bachelor degree preferred. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
