GCP Platform Engineer | 6-9 Years of Experience | Onsite | Jersey City, NJ or Delaware | Contract

Walker Healthforce is seeking a GCP Platform Engineer with 6-9 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting secure cloud networking solutions within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. This is an 8-month Contract opportunity.

HOURS/SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

CORE REQUIREMENTS:
• 6-9 years of experience supporting cloud networking, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering initiatives
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking services and architecture
• Experience utilizing Python for automation and cloud engineering tasks
• Advanced experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies
• Strong understanding of GCP networking fundamentals including VPCs, Shared VPCs, subnets, routing, firewall policies, DNS, NAT, and load balancing
• Experience implementing secure segmentation, ingress controls, egress controls, and enterprise networking best practices
• Proven troubleshooting experience utilizing logs, flow data, monitoring tools, and systematic triage methodologies
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday in either Jersey City, New Jersey or Delaware
• Experience supporting highly available and secure cloud networking environments
• Strong analytical, documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Experience working within enterprise or regulated environments
• Must be authorized to work on a W2 basis

WE CONSIDER IT A BONUS IF YOU ALSO HAVE:
• Experience with centralized firewall governance and policy management
• Knowledge of service perimeter concepts and cloud security boundary controls
• Experience implementing and supporting Web Application Firewall (WAF) solutions
• Experience with hybrid cloud networking architectures and connectivity solutions
• Familiarity with cloud compliance and security best practices
• Experience supporting financial services, healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, build, and support secure and scalable cloud networking solutions for application onboarding initiatives
• Build and operate GCP networking services including VPCs, Shared VPCs, subnets, routing, firewall policies, and DNS architectures
• Define and implement ingress, egress, NAT, load balancing, private connectivity, and secure segmentation patterns
• Support hybrid connectivity architectures utilizing VPN, Interconnect, routing, and enterprise networking solutions
• Provision and manage cloud networking infrastructure through Terraform modules and Infrastructure as Code best practices
• Deliver network changes through staged rollouts and controlled deployment processes that minimize operational risk and deployment blast radius
• Monitor network health, connectivity, performance, and security posture across cloud environments
• Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, firewall, DNS, and security-related issues using logs, flow data, monitoring tools, and structured triage methods
• Collaborate with platform engineering, security, compliance, and application teams to support successful onboarding initiatives
• Maintain technical documentation, network standards, operational procedures, and architecture diagrams
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on automation, reliability, security, and operational excellence
