Position Summary The Social Media Specialist develops and executes engaging socialmedia strategies that enhance the University of Dubuque'svisibility and authentically showcase the University to prospectivestudents, current students, alumni, and stakeholders. This positioncreates and manages multimedia content, collaborates with campusconstituents, maintains the social media calendar, monitorsanalytics and engagement, and supports campaigns across current andemerging platforms. The ideal candidate is a creative,collaborative communicator with strong digital content skills andthe ability to manage multiple priorities in support of theUniversity's mission. Primary Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive and creative social mediastrategy that enhances UD's visibility and showcases the University to prospective students and stakeholders Reach out and collaborate with key campus constituents to establish and drive user-generated content to authentically amplify UD's online voice Collaborate with the Office of University Relations' team to ensure social media strategies align with other marketing and communication efforts and department initiatives Manage a robust social media calendar of consistent social media features along with campaign initiatives that utilize current as well as emerging social media platforms and tactics to support strategies and initiatives Follow and evaluate engagement metrics across all platforms to assess the effectiveness of content types and campaigns to help inform future strategies Proficient in photography and videography to create content that reflects authentic storytelling Help to monitor social media communication traffic and responding to timely requests and inquiries Perform other duties as assigned in support of the University'sMission, especially during peak activity times for campus events Position Skills and Abilities Proficient and knowledgeable in all areas of social mediastrategies, development, and implementation - especially in a higher education setting Identify key contributors and working with a wide variety of constituents in building and maintaining that communication network Ability to establish and maintain short-term and long-term strategies Ability to monitor and assess social media analytics Proficient with digital devices to help with content creation Ability to communicate messages, ideas, and information effectively Superior judgement and interpersonal skills in working seamlessly and effectively with the campus community in partnership with vendors and campus departments Requirements Bachelor's degree Required, Graduate degree Preferred 1+ years of social media experience and 2+ years in related fields is preferred Familiarity with a University environment is preferred Ability to work creatively and multi-task Proficient with related software such as Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant social media management software to support content calendar planning, and engagement strategies Flexibility with schedule is important to attend some evening and weekend events Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
