Licensed Clinical Therapist - Must be licensed for 2 years minimum as LCSW, LMFT, LPCC

Position Summary

A multi-specialty, outpatient behavioral health agency servicing the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California. Actively seeking a Licensed Clinical Therapist. Perfect for the individual looking to grow in a leadership role providing administrative oversight and/or the person looking for flexible/part time work as the role can be modified based on the experience and desire of the clinician.

Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and have been licensed for at least 2 years.

As a Licensed Clinical Therapist, you will provide face-to-face and/or telehealth psychosocial assessments, mental health evaluations, and therapeutic counseling for vulnerable individuals and families conducting timely, comprehensive clinical assessments, facilitating trauma-informed counseling, and preparing professional documentation for legal and clinical use. This role offers flexible scheduling, autonomy in clinical delivery, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interview clients, relatives, and other involved persons to gather personal and social data relevant to assessing mental or emotional disorders.

• Develop service plans with consumers; evaluate psychological, economic, vocational, educational, physical, health, socialization, and housing needs.

• Coordinate with other staff members (psychiatrists, psychologists, and other program staff) and community agencies in carrying out and designing treatment or rehabilitation plans.

• Assist clients and other concerned individuals in understanding the nature of major psychological illnesses and their psychosocial effects.

• Assist clients and their families in understanding and choosing options of mental health treatment.

• Initiate and conduct individual, collateral, group, and family therapy sessions.

• Conduct clinical discussions regarding complex or difficult cases.

• Establish and maintain effective contact with local area mental health resources, including community members, parents, schools, residential facilities, and other agencies/organizations.

• Licensed level, within the scope of licensure, may provide clinical supervision to unlicensed clinicians.

• Respond to emergencies, within licensure, which may occur in the agency.

• Assist in implementing changes to further the quality of operational and administrative aspects of programs and services.

• Coordinate clinical decisions in response to operational demands.

• Prepare reports and write correspondence.

• Coordinate the flow of information and clinical data to ensure continuity in treatment of clients.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain complete client records including:

• Service authorization forms.

• Assessment and treatment documentation.

• Session logs, start/end times.

• Missed, declined, or canceled appointment records.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two years of post Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor experience in a recognized social services or mental health care setting involving problems of mental or emotional adjustment and the use of psychiatric consultation.

• A valid, active license as a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Behavioral Sciences.

• Meet background check requirements.

• Experience in clinical assessment and treatment of vulnerable populations.

• Ability to work independently and maintain professional boundaries.

Preferred but not required:

• Prior supervisory or management experience

• Experience providing daily administrative oversight to a team, with technical supervision of licensed clinical staff exercised in accordance with scope-of-practice guidelines.

• Familiarity with county mental health documentation and systems

Skills & Competencies:

• Principles, techniques and trends in counseling, psychotherapy, clinical case management, and various treatment modalities;

• Biological, behavioral and environmental aspects of emotional disturbances, mental disability, and substance abuse;

• Culturally proficient practices with diverse case load;

• Scope and activities of the public and private health and welfare agencies and other available resources; and

• Principles and techniques of mental health education, prevention, and crisis intervention within the community.

• Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills.

• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and child/family systems.

• Cultural and linguistic competency.

• Flexibility in service delivery (e.g., in-home, in-office, telehealth).

• Proficiency in interpreting psychological and social assessments.

Work Conditions:

• Services may be scheduled outside of traditional office hours to accommodate clients.
