Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of postpartum experience License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, IV certification Must-Have: Minimum 2 years of postpartum experience IV start skills and labor & delivery experience EPIC experience Experience in administration of blood and blood products Foley catheter insertion skills Breastfeeding instruction experience Cesarean section care Fundus, lochia, and perineum care Management of postpartum hemorrhage Knowledge of neonatal abstinence syndrome Description: The position requires a registered nurse in the Mother-Baby specialty focusing on couplet care in the postpartum setting. The nurse will work night shifts, providing care to postpartum patients, including vaginal and cesarean deliveries. They will be responsible for managing patient care in a unit with a patient ratio of 3-4 dyads and 6-8 patients on nights and weekends. The nurse may be required to float to units with similar acuity as needed. Interdisciplinary support includes teams for IV, physical therapy, interpretation services, social services, and pharmacy. The unit cares for postpartum patients and healthy newborns, as well as readmissions for complications such as wound infection and preeclampsia. Telemetry interpretation is required, and the nurse will be expected to pass an EKG exam prior to starting. All candidates must be responsive and cooperative with credentialing processes. References from professional supervisors are required for submission.
