THE POSITION

Saildrone is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance organization and support core accounting operations and monthly close activities. This is a hands-on role focused on journal entries, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records across a fast-scaling hardware and defense technology environment. The Staff Accountant will work closely with senior accounting leadership and cross-functional operational teams to help ensure the integrity of financial reporting, support audits, and strengthen foundational accounting processes as the company continues to scale.
THE TEAM

The Finance team ensures Saildrone's financial foundation scales with global deployments and advanced technology development. We partner closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and FP&A to deliver accurate, timely financial insights that support operations in a national security and defense environment.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the monthly close process through journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Own select balance sheet accounts and ensure accurate supporting schedules.
• Assist with accruals, prepaids, and fixed asset accounting.
• Partner with Cost Accounting to reconcile inventory and WIP activity into the GL.
• Support audit requests and maintain organized accounting documentation.
• Help improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance teams as needed.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP.
• Experience preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
• Exposure to ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification and a public accounting background would be nice.
• Experience in manufacturing, hardware, or inventory-based environments.

The base salary range for this position is shown below. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and qualifications. This range reflects the base salary for candidates in states requiring pay transparency disclosure.

Salary Range

$90,000-$110,000 USD
