Job Description As a Security Officer Port Access Driver in Houston, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support site access procedures while helping to deter security‑related incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in job state. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $15.45 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTime Wed 11:00 AM – 05:00 PM Thu 05:00 AM – 05:00 PM Fri 05:00 AM – 05:00 PM Sat 05:00 AM – 05:00 PM What You’ll Do: Provide customer service to all visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site‑specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate for the location. Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorizations, and document visitor, vendor, and vehicle activity in support of site access requirements. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed. Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, with attention to restricted areas, gates, fencing, and other access control points within an industrial location. Support security‑related operations by reporting unusual activity, monitoring for policy compliance, and helping to deter unauthorized access to the property. Minimum Requirements: A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located. A TSA issued TWIC is required. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
