Position Summary:

Assisting the conversion, distribution and management of all computer images and records efficiently. Providing quality customer service for both internal and external customers including patients, physicians and attorneys.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Scanning, copying, printing, attaching, reporting and or distribution of radiology exams with basic quality assurance of all images before distribution
• Processes requests via CD, USB, DVD or secure email attachments.
• Answering phone calls and timely retrieval of voicemails on health information tasks.
• Determines priority of all requests and processes accordingly.
• Reviews all internal email distributions and external website requests that are directly related to health information management and process in a timely fashion.
• Accepts and processes payments from patients and attorney offices that are billable services.
• Monitors all out going faxes that are in undelivered queue and address accordingly.
• Reviews and processes patient updates via EPIC and routes accordingly.
• Completes legal document requests for images or reports and attaches accordingly, this includes subpoenas.
• Processes One Call Care Medical workman compensation (OCCM) image requests.
• Works with management on ways to streamline, improve the current processing and distribution of images through the various technologies currently available including mail and emailing.
• Supports Department in relation to managing patient information which includes but is not limited to: merging patient accounts and answering corporate line phone calls.
• Audits own work to ensure quality.
• Reports safety or quality events immediately.
• Respects patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA standards.
• Attends meetings, training, learning and development sessions as required.
• Weekend hours may be required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Previous film library/health information experience preferred.
• General clerical experience with some exposure to medical terminology.
• Excellent customer service skills, multi-line phone experience, multi-tasking and interpersonal communication.
• Consistently detailed orientated.
• Demonstrates initiative in problem solving and resolving customer satisfaction issues.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Must be comfortable utilizing de-escalation skills when communicating with patients in crisis.
• Proficient computer skills and data entry skills.

• Listen to feedback or constructive criticism from management and apply it to themselves.
• Critical thinking - the ability to think creatively, problem solve and work independently.

Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Two years related experience
