Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Louisiana Special Education Educator Certificate (required)
  • Experience working with elementary caseloads in a school setting preferred
  • Flexibility to adapt to different classroom structures and student needs
  • Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff, families, and related service providers
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specially designed instruction to elementary students in accordance with IEP goals
  • Assess student skills and modify curriculum as needed to address a range of abilities and learning styles
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student success
  • Document student progress and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insight to assist with student planning and advocacy
  • Maintain a positive, productive, and safe classroom environment

  • Location: Reserve, LA (near Destrehan)
  • Contract dates: August 3, 2026 – May 26, 2027
  • Full-time schedule: 35 hours per week
  • Elementary caseload: Be prepared to work in any setting as needed
