This full-time contract position runs from August 2026 through May 2027, providing consistent, meaningful engagement with students at a welcoming elementary school. The role is onsite and offers the chance to work within a supportive school community in south Louisiana.

Key qualifications:

• Current and valid Louisiana Special Education Educator Certificate
• Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, ideally in K-6 settings
• Strong adaptability to various classroom environments and student needs
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills within multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to fostering inclusion, individual achievement, and positive learning outcomes

Primary responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for students with diverse learning challenges
• Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to support educational goals
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date records
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and behavioral management strategies
• Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines relating to special education
