Special Education Teacher - Kenner, Louisiana

Job Description

Step into an impactful role supporting students by providing specialized educational services in a welcoming school setting. A full-time opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to work onsite at an elementary level near Kenner, LA for the upcoming academic year.

This contract position spans from early August 2026 to late May 2027, with a consistent 35-hour work week. As a valued team member, you will help foster academic growth and confidence in students requiring tailored instruction and support. Comfortable environments await those who are flexible and confident in special education settings, ready to serve where the need is greatest.

Qualifications:

Active Louisiana SPED Educator Certificate required
Prior experience in a Special Education teaching role highly desirable
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to adapt to a variety of classroom environments and student needs
Commitment to nurturing a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
Provide differentiated instruction within an elementary setting
Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and specialists to support student progress
Monitor, document, and report on student achievement and advancements
Partner with families, advocating for each child’s success
Create a classroom that is safe, engaging, and supports diverse learning needs
