Key Responsibilities

• Conducts direct evaluations and re-evaluations in physical therapy, assessing both prior and current functional levels, establishing suitable goals, and making discharge recommendations in line with practice standards. Implements direct treatment plans that include patient and family education, treatment progression, and appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Utilizes designated documentation forms and adheres to the documentation standards set by PM&R. Collaborates with physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare team members regarding patient treatment and progress, as well as with affiliated agencies. Actively engages in meetings, in-services, and rounds related to patient care and departmental matters.
• Oversees Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and rehabilitation technicians. Provides instruction to PT interns and other students as necessary, while also mentoring less experienced staff. Effectively organizes and prioritizes your schedule to meet the demands of patient care and departmental duties.
• Contributes to program development as directed by the PT Clinical Leader. Engages in a minimum of 20 contact hours of continuing education or other learning opportunities to maintain professional competency. Delivers at least two in-service sessions annually for staff and/or the community for educational purposes.
• Complies with all regulations from the Department of Health and the Joint Commission concerning the physical environment and patient care. Demonstrates involvement in at least one non-clinical activity, such as committees or task forces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical practice, as defined by educational requirements.
• Current license as a Physical Therapist in D.C. (District of Columbia) or eligibility for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Compensation

This position offers a salary range of USD $74,214.00 - USD $134,596.00 per year.
