Work Environment

In this onsite role, you will work directly within a school facility, engaging with students and faculty in a vibrant educational setting. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations and screenings for students, providing personalized care plans.
• Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to identify health issues and establish effective treatment plans.
• Administer vaccines and other immunizations according to established guidelines and school health policies.
• Educate students and their families on health maintenance, nutrition, and preventive care strategies to promote long-term wellness.
• Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, and parents to advocate for students with special health needs, ensuring integrative support.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with health regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and assess acute medical situations, providing immediate care when necessary.
• Participate in health education programs within the school, enhancing overall awareness of health issues impacting the student body.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary patient population comprises school-aged children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds. As a Nurse Practitioner in this role, you will address a wide spectrum of health concerns, including routine check-ups, chronic illness management, mental health assessments, and acute injuries or illnesses. You are expected to build trusting relationships with students, encouraging them to communicate their health needs openly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program is required.
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification and a valid New York state nursing license.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience, preferably in community health or public health environments, is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $150,000-$160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
